Does Insight still have "Preferred / Guaranteed Departures?
I have just received my copy of the 2010 USA & Canada Brochure. I notice that there are no preferred departures noted. Having been disappointed previously when the tour I had booked was cancelled I thought that if I was to travel with Insight again, that I would definitely book for a "Preferred Departure"

Can someone please advise? Roll Eyes

Always Traveling, Insight has changed from "preferred departures" to "definite departures" which gives a more accurated status of individual tour dates. The new designation is given on a rolling basis. If you go to the top of this forum to the "find" button and type in "departures", "definite departures" or "preferred departures" you will see a complete explanation/discussion of same.

Thanks Joninwa, That clarifies it a bit for me however, if I book my flights to connect with a specific departure date 9 months in advance - to take advantage of a lower airfare - and then that departure dated is cancelled, I then have to try to change my flights, and with the lack of notice it would probably be difficult to access the same fare for the same cost or even a vacant seat. Has this been considered by Insight? Roll Eyes

There are a number of ppl who choose to book their own flights, me included. You do risk the possibility of a cancelled tour. This happened to me just this last May. Insight was very helpful in getting me booked on the same tour leaving one week later and fortunately I was able to change my air to match. I have found Insight to be very helpful, but you do run that risk. If you book land and air thru Insight then they have more responsibility to help.
