Tups, I sent you an email about an hour ago telling you what your chatroom problem may be and how you (or your son) may be able to fix it.

Gaeley (and others),
I looked up on my map and I now see where Nelson is (South Island) and where Gisborne is (North Island.) I'm getting so smart. Also found Newcastle! (Dragon's place!) Tupps, hope things get straightened out. It's 5:28 p.m. up here and you guys are probably still sleeping on Sunday morning! |

Good old 'Google'
Just think back to the 'good old days' when you would have had to go to a major library to find an Atlas detailed enough to show it, on a good day, as I can imagine many overseas libraries would not have an atlas with sufficient detail. |

Thanks to Phil, I found it on Google, but then had to "back out" of the close up to see that it was near -oops, don't know if I will type this right - Christchurch. All one word? I didn't look at the map closely.
Now I'll give you one. Find Finneytown - near me! |

A great new feature on the new version of Google Earth is Street view.
On researching our upcoming trip to the States in July/August, I was able to get down onto street level and see our hotel and noticed that there was a large parking station opposite. We have communicated by email and ascertained that it will be a lot cheaper parking there rather than using valet parking supplied by the hotel. The fact that we could see most of San francisco at street level is fantastic. Someone said that maybe we don't have to go now as we have already "been there". Jim |

If memory serves me correctly back in the early sixties, when I was at Canterbury University, Rangiora was where they sold beer by the pound.
When you travel, remember that a foreign country is not designed to make you comfortable. It is designed to make its own people comfortable. |
