Just wondering why if the 2010 brochures are only just being relased do you not offer better discount for 6 months and maybe 8 months. Hard to make a 12 month early booking when you don't release info 12 months in advance. I have been waiting for brochure & ta could not give me any details so I feel like I have been penalised.

[QUOTE]...... I feel like I have been penalised.

Many people on this site, including me, have made bookings 12 months in advance with Insight, can't think of anybody else saying they had been penalised.

Hornet, I think Sheryl means, because she waited for the brochure, she has been penalized. Sheryl, what we have done is base our booking on the previous year's brochure, then paid any extra or got a refund when the brochure comes out. You also have a chance to cancel at that time.

Hi Sheryl, we always book 12 months in advance and simply choose a date closest to when we wish to travel. Dates can always be changed. We take advantage of the 10% discount plus another 5% as we are regular travellers with Insight. The savings are quite substantial. We have booked on the Britain and Ireland Discover Tour for next June so with the savings, have decided to have an extra couple of nights in London.

I readily accept the point made and concur with all other points made re advance bookings.

Here in the UK using the word penalised is very often seen to be the starting point for seeking compensation.

The Australian based customers, including Sheryl, can already read about the Insight holidays for 2010/11, my brochure usually arrives back end of November. In spite of this I have had no problems booking in advance.

No offence intended for sure but penalised is an odd word to use - or so I thought at the time.

May I also respectfully point out that Sheryl should perhaps, in this particular instance, have directed her concerns to Insight via the 'contact us' facility.
