Dear Bulletin Board Members,

I would like to take this opportunity to send my very best wishes for the holiday season.

Despite global economic problems, 2008 was a very busy year for Insight with a record number of tours running in both Europe and North America. The outlook remains positive as the Insight business seems to be relatively strong despite the recent trends. I surmise we must be doing something right and that customers recognise our unique product and great value.

Our 2009 programme has been out for some months now and features a variety of new destinations and itineraries, which I hope many of you will enjoy.

The Bulletin Board has been very active during 2008 and we have seen a record number of new members registering along with a record number of posts from existing members and past Insight travellers.

This unique forum is a fantastic opportunity for you all to exchange views, offer advice and ask any questions you may have regarding Insight and travel in general. I am delighted to see that after so many years this Board continues to be so popular and such a valuable source for new travellers. Please do mention this site to your friends who may be considering travelling in 2009.

August 2008 saw our first Bulletin Board Members Tour! The tour was a tremendous success with regular members coming together and enjoying the sights and sounds of Germany. Plans are already underway for another tour in 2010 – so continue to watch this space...

In closing I would like to thank each of you for taking the time to post your views, advice and share your travel tales and photos with us. This forum really does belong to you and without your input it would not be the success it is today.

Wishing you safe travels and a very happy New Year.

Kindest regards,

John Boulding
Managing Director

Thank you John. I wish all BB members (and guests) a happy holiday seasons and a better new year.
I will be on my 10th Insight tour in April, and you will continue to be my tour company of choice.
General, I will trade homes with you for awhile. We have over 12" of snow here right now.

John we have relatives in Vancouver washington state and they couldn't get together for Christmas day because of the snow. I believe you haven't had it like this in the Pacific Northwest for quite some time!! Smiler

Not at this time of year, johninwa. I would have traded homes with you on August 15, 2004 when Hurricane Charlie raced through the area and knocked out power, water, phone service and seven tall trees in my yard. By the way, Washington is a beautiful state and we visited there in May, 2007 after a cruise through the Panama Canal on Holland America.

Cheers

jimbo, it has been at least 10 yrs since we have had this much snow, and have it last this long. I have had my car out of the garage only once in the last two weeks. Fortunately my neighbor has a 4X4. The main streets are not bad, just can't get to them. It is warming up now so hopefully this will all go away.
General, I guess every place has its pros and cons. I have been seriously looking at buying a condo on the gulf in Panama City, but haven't found the right one yet. You are welcome in Washington anytime. I've had some major limb damage on a couple of trees from the weight of the snow.

Happy Trails!!

Thank you, John.

My wife and I wish you and your family (both your Insight family of employees and your personal family) a very healthy, prosperous and fun filled year of travels in 2009.

A very Happy New Year also to all of the various members of this Bulletin Board and in particular to the many great BBers whose company we had the pleasure of on the 2008 BB tour.
