My husband and I are booked on the above tour, departing the 2 September 2007.
A bit scary reading about the cancelled or reversed itineries. We had planned on leaving the Tour in Amsterdam as we are meeting friends from Germany, but if the tour gets reversed, we will have a problem!
I wanted to visit King Ludwig's Castle, but it says that you 'See' the castle??
We had planned on doing only a couple of excursions, what is other peoples experience re the Tour.
Appreciate any comments. Smiler

Hi I saw your request as to anyone who has been on the European Adventure. I went on this 14 day tour last Sept 2006. Like yourselves I hadnt seen much mention of this tour by others on this board. But it was a great tour, very full on but the idea is to see as much as you can in such a short time. I ended up going on this tour by myself and it was like one big family on the bus. We all got along so well and the age group was from 19 to 70.

Great to hear from you. Some questions:
Was the bus full and where were the majority of people from? Where are you from?
Did you have good weather, as our trip will also be in September (2nd)?
How did you find the accommodation and food?
Did you go on many excursions, and which ones can you recomend or think is a waste of money?
Did you get a chance to have a proper look at King Ludwig's Castle? (I really wanted to go there)
What was the last day like, from Amsterdam to London, was it long and not so exciting, or was the scenery etc worth it? I am asking as we are thinking of leaving the trip in Amsterdam but do not want to miss anything special, did any one else on your trip leave in Amsterdam?
What was your Tour Director and Driver like?
Would you go on a SuperSaver Tour again?
Finally would you have any advise for us re what to do, etc.
I look forward to you comments.
Smiler

Supersaver - If you click on European Highligts Super Saver Sept 2 - 16 2006 You will see my review of a Trip I did in August 2006 that covers much the same as the European Adventure.

Thankyou for the great information that I read in your review. We were going to go on the highlights Tour but decided to include more of Austria. Was your tour full. as we are going on the 2 September this year? Was the weather OK? I was so pleased that we will hopefully get a stop at Ludwigs Castle. We are really looking forward to this trip. What was you TD andkDrive like? Was there any optional excursions that were just not worth it?
Look forward to any other information you could give. Smiler

Full bus, I think there were 2 spare seats. It was the middle of summer, but rained through parts of Germany, Austria, Switzerland. The TD was great, really knew his history, a bit pushy selling the optionals, but also combined some of the optionals which made them a little cheaper and his suggestions were usually worth seeing. I'm not into cabaret's so didn't do Dinners in Rome & Paris, I was happy do my own thing. While the palace of Versailles and gardens are a splender to see I thought it rather expensive when I noticed the walk up prices for the general public, but you are paying to be bused around and have a guide.
I liked the bus ride, usually stopped every couple of hours. You rotate two rows back each day so sit in a different seat which is good. Need coin for restroom stops can be 20c 50c or 1 euro. McDonald's refund if you make a purchase. Options in Venice are diffently worth doing, I didn't do the Louvre preferred to walk around Paris.

What time did you leave London and SmilerWhat time did you arrive back in London after the Tour?
We had planned on being in Athens that night, so did not know if we should leave the tour in Amsterdam or see the tour through and go straight to the airport when we get back to London.

Tour commenced 5.45 am. Hotel was supposed to give us a wake-up call 4.30am but didn't, so make sure you set your own alarm. Arrived back at Hotel early afternoon. Basically on last day bus drove direct from Paris to London with minimum stops.

Sorry, just realized we did reverse to your tour.
First day was in Amsterdam and we didn't arrive there until late afternoon, so at a guess, you will probably get into London about 4.30 - 5pm.
