Hi Karen and Will
I just hope that we get the same bus you had.
I am only 5'2", but my husband is 6'4".
Did you have good weather?
Sound as if you brought a few things. Were you nervous about checking in at the airport on the way home. We plan to leave NZ with the minimum so that we have room for our found treasures!!!
Did you end up with much spare time to do your own sight seeing?

Hi Mainz

no wasnt an awful lot of spare time to do our own thing, just a snatched hour here and there. We chose to do every optional offered, those that wanted to do their own thing in a particular place stayed back and did it.
Weather was absolutely glorious. Londoners were sunbaking for the first tour we did then snap we had a cold weather change when we went to scotland and around England. Hubby and l packed 10kg each to leave with and returned with about 17kg each on return. This did not include our stuffed insight carry bags with all the breakable objects we bought including ceramic delft windmills that play music that we bought in the Netherlands.

Phil l am very grateful to have only had 29 passengers for our first tour..funnily the supersaver tour used both front and rear doors for entering and exiting the coach. Luggage was handled effortlessly. On our Premium tour we had 35 in our group and only the front door was used. The director for this tour also gave people the option to porter their own luggage, just seemed to add to the confusion.

Dear Karen and Will,
I have a question about breakfast at the Thistle Marble Arch. When I was there the last time, it was the Mount Royal. We got continental breakfasts on trays put on the floor by our door. Is that still the way it is or do they have a nice breakfast buffet that is included in your room charge?

Thanks loads for the info!

Hi september
the thistle marble arch offers one of the best buffet breakfasts that we had on our entire tour. At times it is so bust that they even open a second dining room located across from the main one. It too was stocked with anything you could ever want for breakfast.

Hey, Karen and Will,
Sorry to belabor the point, but I will be there as part of my Insight tour, NOT paying extra for extra days as you were, I think (??). So did the buffet come with MY kind of set up. We arrive from the USA on Friday noonish, have that day to ourselves (I've been there before) and then do a city tour on Saturday, and I guess meet our TD who knows? Late Saturday or early Sunday. Our tour is in England.

Thanks!

Dear September

we organised extra nights at the thistle marble arch between tours two of our nights were provided by insight. Buffet breakfast was included with nights stay, except the morning we had to leave early for the tour and we were given take away breakfast which was continental. Tea / coffee making facilities in room. Hope this helps SmilerKaren

Dear Karen and Will,
It's hard keeping track of what subjects we are writing under!

That bit about the buffet now sounds like it was several years ago. When you (I) was on the ACTUAL tour list, I got the continental breakfast at my door --- croissant, orange juice, tea, and milk.

It will just have to be a surprise until I get there!

Hi karen
How come you received the two nights through Insight, were they free or did you have to pay Insight for them?

Hi Karen
When you book your tours in Australia does it include the first night in London at the departing hotel?
You were saying that you had two free nights and I can see why you got one but how come the other night??
