Planning to do European Grandeur next may but wondering that if there is a similar supersaver tour is it worth considering? Has anyone done a supersaver european tour and a premium european tour and if so what were the differences and which was more enjoyable? Is it worth the extra cost?

Thank you ZGordon. The information you gave me has been very helpful and as I originally thought the Premium tour is definately my preference.

We have never considered a supersavor tour. Considering the costs of a European trip, we will gladly pay a few hundred dollars more for the Premium tours.
Just ask yourself this question. "How often are you going to Europe in your lifetime." Cheers General max |

have just returned from doing 3 tours and now have first hand knowledge of comparing supersaver to premium tours..we chose the supersaver tour for the itinery and not to save money..was the best trip of the lot..yes we had less leg room on the coach...but the seats were more comfortable than on the premium coach. Our hotels were often just outside the city limits...but hey l dont care when lm falling into an exhausted heap at the end of each day where it is..just need to recharge my batteries so l can go go go again the next day!

Hi Mainz & hooked on travel
yes our first tour was the European Adventure and it was oh so much more than what we expected. We now have firm friends from all over the world. The itinery was fantastic and the options are a must..plan on budgeting to do them all..each of them added to the tour and the experince of Europe as a whole. Our tour director was fantastic...Brad Allemand...an aussie who has been directing European tours for 8 years.and who bought my travel dreams to life..Givanni our awesome italian bus driver..l have just downloaded my 900 pics onto my pc and relived the whole trip.. your tour will be what you put in to it..and what your prepared to take from it..if you go away..take your sense of adventure, your sense of humour, be prepared to experience things so very different from home and appreciate the uniqueness of where you are and how others do things.not whinge about missing things from home...all you will do is make others journeys a misery. Meet your touring buddies and be friendly. It comes back at you in spades... our group consisted of 6 aussies, 4 americans, a couple from India, a group of 7 from Myanma ((Burma) and a group from the Phillipines...our motley crew learnt a lot about Europe but also about each others idiosyncrasies and cultures. Was certainly the trip of my dreams and was the best trip of the 3 guided tours we did. Leave with an open mind and be prepared to do it all and you wont be disappointed. Karen |

Hi Karen
It sounds as if your bus was not full. Who were the other two tours with, we are also doing a ****** Tour of England, Scotland and Wales, but this one is the one that I am most looking forward to. Did you have a chance to see Mad King Ludwigs Castle up close, did you stop for a lunch break there? What time did you leave in the morning from London and what time did you get back to London after Amsterdam? From Amsterdam back to London did you do much or was it mainly just on the bus and ferry? I am asking as we need to be in Athens on the 15 September, which is the day we arrive back in London. Don't know whether to leave the Tour in Amsterdam or take a late flight from London. Which Hotel did you stay at prior to your Tour? Sorry for the questions, but we are not sure what to do. |

Hi Mainz
dont mind answering questions at all...hmm our other two tours were with..Insight (Premium) and G****s. Of all 3 tours we enjoyed the European Adventure the most and not just for the itinery but mostly because of our tour director Brad and driver Giovanni who ensured that the trip ran smoothly..hindsight is a wonderful thing and after two tours not run as efficiently and thoroughly as our first done following it just made it stand out even more how wonderful our first trip was. The last day of our trip was a driving day to get us back to London really. we drove through the countryside of Holland and Belgium back to France to board the ferry in Calais back to Dover then bussed back to London. Arriving about 4.30pm in the afternoon to our hotel at Marble Arch. If l was you with the knowledge l now have l would probably miss this last day and fly from Schipol to athens to not miss the start of your next trip. Remembering the hours ahead you need to be at the airport. There is a shuttle bus or taxis or the train that can take you straight to the airport in Amsterdam. We stayed at the holiday inn in Kingscross Bloomsbury before our trip and like all hotels in London is not cheap to eat at..but neither is anywhere else. We arrived a day earlier than we had to and walked to the bus stop near Russel square to catch the hop on off bus tour of London ( the original tour). The hotel has a lot of info about tours around London and sightseeing. We purchased our bus tickets on the morning of from the National Hotel. This was about a 15 minute walk from our hotel in Kingscross. Mad King Ludwigs castle..sigh...was magnificent even from afar..we stopped at the information area at the base for morning tea and were given about 40 minutes to explore, take pics, visit the restrooms and grab a coffee..let me tell you that the biggest thing about touring is that you find you become obsessed with where to find bathrooms. Was hilarious when l think about it. All of us where the same and if they were free we were all going whether you really needed to or not.hahaha anyway this castle and the area around it is an area that hubby and l will certainly go back to and explore on our own. Your tour will give you amazing snapshots of all of Europe and a few more in more depth. Some of our favourite places werent on the list of places we thought we would enjoy the most. Vienna was wonderful as was switzerland. Paris will be hard to beat for the wow factor and l would not hesitate to book another supersaver tour. Do all of the options even if they dont sound great..they were all fantastic and really bought each place to life. |
