There is nothing particularly Austra;ian about the term, the Brits and many others use it. Google "Buck House" and you will also discover the US one.

When you travel, remember that a foreign country is not designed to make you comfortable. It is designed to make its own people comfortable.

We are going on a SuperSaver tour in September, the hotel that they use in London seems quite expensive. Has anyone stayed close by at a good reasonably priced hotel? Do Insight pick their passengers up from other hotels? Smiler

MaINZ, Insight will not pick passengers up from other hotels that have been booked by the passenger. You are responsible for getting to the tour departure hotel along with your luggage.

Are they using Holiday Inn at 1 Kings Cross Rd Kings Cross ? If so there is the Farrington Travelodge almost opposite at 10 Kings Cross Rd. It is a lot cheaper, and can be found on the net. There is also Roseberry Hall close by Check out their web site http://www.lsevacations.co.uk/

Consider the Hyde Park Radnor in Sussex Place Hyde Park London. Google them for their web site.

The Copthorne Tara hotel in Kennsington also is a very good hotel. It is right by a tube station on the Centre Line.

We just got back from the Jewels of Europe Tour and stayed at the Holiday Inn, Kings Cross. I would not recommend it because it is not convenient to anything, and is quite a hike to the Kings Cross tube or Russell Square tube.
