Just returned from a stay at the Crowne Plaza St. James in London. Excellent location- can walk to almost everything and a less than five minute walk to the tube station.-St James- and about a 5-7 minute walk to Victoria Station. Buckingham Palace is 5 minutes away-just down the block. Plenty of shopping and restaurants are close and the Parliament/Westminster area is less than a ten minute walk. Staff is incredibly helpful and rooms are spacious and nicely furnished. We ordered three newspapers every morning at no charge, had turn down service every night, free bottled water in the room, double closet with drawers, triple dresser with large roomy drawers, king size bed, iron and ironing board, complimentary snacks in basket every day. Also a taxi stand in front of the hotel and a superb concierge who was just tops. I highly recommend this hotel and its staff.

I'll second the Crowne Plaza as a great hotel in a great location. Indian restaurant next door is good, but EXPENSIVE (but hey, they are award winners).

Not a hotel that is used on the Supersaver tours though.

Token User,
I posted my message because when I scrolled down the "Insight Experience" Forum
posts on the "About Insight Vacation" page to "SuperSaver Europe and Britain" it clearly says "bringing you comfortable "First Class hotels" and "Truly a First Class experience, but at affordable prices." Insight's own words say that their hotels on this tour are "First Class" and the Crowne Plaza London St.James is indeed a first class hotel which why I included it in my post.We negotiated with them on a price and found it to be affordable and we found that we paid less for this hotel than what we paid for other hotels in London which were not as nice or centrally located like this hotel. If InSight considers that they have "first class" hotels on the SuperSaver then why complain when I post about the Crowne Plaza?

Did you see a complaint?? I apologise if I somehow Confused offended you.

I clearly said, I second your opinion that the Crowne Plaza is a great hotel in a great location.

All I said was that this is not a hotel Insight use for their SuperSaver tours.
