I thought I read some where that some businesses in Italy won't take euros if they were issued from a different country. Is this a problem? We were going to purchase some Euros prior to leaving, but should we wait and use the ATM there?

Hi George,
Not in our experience - in Italy a Euro is accepted anywhere so long as it's not a forged one! There are several countries outside the Euro Zone where shop-keepers sometimes accept Euros (such as Switzerland or the Czech Republic)but of course they are not obliged to do so. John G and Peter |
