Tour Cancellations - Topic Powered by Social Strata

Just heard that the tour we were booked on after the other was cancelled has also been. This has worked out an expensive experience as flights have had to be cancelled and adjusted twice.......... We had booked four tours with Insight this trip but now have had to change to
another tour company so that the whole trip will follow on from each other.

For those of us in the US, in this time of uncertainty, I would most surely book with someone like AAA and get their insurance. Under that plan, Insight selects your flights. They might not be exactly what YOU want, but you are better off if the tour would be cancelled.

Best of Germany for September might still be "iffy."

Are you from northern, central, or southern Ohio?

Thanks for the tip. I will go to AAA tomorrow and see what they can do. We have direct, non-stop flights from here (Cincinnati) to Frankfurt and we fly first class so I don't know how we will work that out. The dates we're considering are guaranteed but evidently that doesn't mean it can't be cancelled.

Hi, Donna,

I was also booked on an Insight Tour, ES Spain & Portugal for June 20th. My tour was cancelled but Insight booked me for the next tour departing on June 27th. I booked with AAA and they made sure that my transition ran smoothly. Perhaps, AAA is in the position of demanding Insight to honor their bookings since they give them a lot of business. I also booked my Best of Italy tour last year through AAA and we did not have any problems. Anyway AAA will give you good advice.

I'm also from Cincinnati (NEVER give specifics but I'll say I deal with the Northgate AAA).

I'm going on the Insight Bulletin Board tour in August and chose US Air to Frankfurt and back because it was $400 cheaper. In some ways, I'm sorry because I do like direct flights!

I deal with the Kenwood AAA office. Although I hate to spend the extra money, when we fly across the big pond, I always try to get the non-stops and splurge on first class. I figure we've worked all our lives so we should spend it where it means something to us.
I didn't have time to get to AAA today and tomorrow doesn't look good either but when I do, I'll let you know what I find out.
What is a "Bulletin Board" tour and where are you going?

Do you see where you hit "Tour Cancellations"? Well, right above it in a separate division is "2007/2008 Members Tour."

I am leaving August 19 but the tour actually starts on August 21 and it is southern Germany, some Austria, and a one town in France. There is still room and this trip is a sure thing. Want to join us? It ends on September 3. In and out of Frankfurt.

Click on the MAIN title, "2007/2008 Members Tour" on the left side of the rectangle and you can read all the "threads."

If you are interested, we will work out a way (I have an idea) of finally getting into phone connection!
