Hi Grahame,
Welcome to the Bulletin Board. The time you need to board the coach each day can vary depending on how much travel is required on the individual days.If you have a lot of ground to cover then your starting time will be early. The Tour Director tells you each day what time you will be leaving the following morning. If there is a Tour Tale on this tour you may get an idea from that if you search in the find on the top of the page you should come up with it.

Cheers Denise

Hi Grahame
We did the grand European tour a few years ago and had a really great time. Unfortunately many mornings were early starters but I found the most important thing is to be organised. Before going to bed each night I ensured I set out the clothes we were going to wear the next day - if it need ironing did that too so that everything was set out. Packed the suitcase ready for the morning which only meant adding the pjs and toiletries bag so once you finished showering in went pjs toiletries bag and ready to be collect while you go for breakfast. You will also find you go the bed early as you will be tired from the full days. After the first few days it becomes routine. Relax and enjoy

Hi Grahame

You will have a wonderful time on this tour. My husband and I have returned just this week from three months overseas which included Insight's European Grandeur which departed from London on April 28th. It was fantastic... pretty hectic... but fantastic!

Wake up calls were usually between 6.30 am and 7.30 am... bags out the door half an hour later and breakfast about the same time... followed by a departure 45 - 60 minutes later. For example 6.30/7.00/7.45 would be 6.30 am - wake up call, 7.00 am - bags out and breakfast, 7.45 am - on the bus for departure. Our Tour Director would always advise us of the times the night before, and they would also be 'posted' on a bulletin board in the hotel foyer. The early starts are well worth while - even though they are sometimes met by a few groans - because this is how you are able to see soooooooooooooooo much and beat the queues at the more popular tourist attractions first thing in the morning.

I can highly recommend the European Grandeur and all it has to offer. Any other questions... feel free to ask. I received so much help from others on this BB and can now return the favour!!!

Happy Planning... regards Liz

Grahame,
Being on tour is different from being on holiday! It's not relaxing as there is so much to do and see. Hence the early starts and sometimes long days on the coach. But touring is worth it all!

We have not had a problem with jet lag going, but coming home is another matter. Both times I have taken tours, I have been tired when I got home. While on tour, even if the hours were early, I would not sleep on the coach. I so wanted to see everything I could. There is always something new to look at. I am an early riser anyway, so it didn't bother me at all.
